Destiny Bay 'Mystae' 2024, Waiheke Island

An enticing bouquet of power, complexity, intrigue and concentration. Aromas of black cherry and dark skinned plums, layers of earth and stone then baking spices from wood and wood smoke. Chocolate and blackberry, clove and vanilla, cedar and some toasted coconut, fresh date and violets rush through the bouquet. Complexity, youth and urgency. On the palate a dry wine with equal intent and power of fruit with reflection from the bouquet a constant framed by an abundance of polished fine tannins along with acidity and textures from lees, wood and alcohol. Lengthy, taut and poised for ageing, this is wine best left to age for some time. It can be decanted and served alongside food if you desire, however the best window for drinking will be 2034 through 2044+.
