Destiny Bay 'Destinae' 2024, Waiheke Island

An excellent bouquet of power and concentration, ripeness and intent. Scents of blackberry fruits and some fresh date, crushed violets and earth smoke of stone and clay. A bold expression of oak follows with tobacco and cigar box revealing some dark chocolate and wood smoke. Youthful and complex. On the palate a dry wine with layers of purple and blackberry fruit flavours, dark plum skin and violet then smoke and baking spices. Tannins and acidity are in abundance adding mouthfeel and complexity. A necessary time in cellar is needed to bring all the component parts closer to together to form synergies. Decant for service and pair with food. Best drinking from 2034 through 2040+.
