Astrolabe Sauvignon Blanc 2026, Awatere Valley

A distinctive and enticing bouquet with power, fruit, pungency, varietal drive and a link to site and region. Aromas of sea-spray and makrut lime leaf, sage and bell-pepper, and white fleshed fruits with an apple and pineapple suggestion. Youthful and quite seductive as the wine warms in and opens out in glass. Delicious on the palate, dry and salivating, saline and taut with acidity delivering a nice palate squeeze as it releases flavours of citrus, zest and tree fruits. Nettles and white flowers, cool-stony soil ideas along with fruit and and natural power lead to a satisfying salty finish. Best drinking from late 2026 through 2031+.
