Ayrburn 'Ten Acre' Pinot Noir 2024, Gibbston, Central Otago

A very enticing bouquet of savory complexity, dried herb and ripe red berries, plenty of earthy mineral signals with a marl and silty soil scent then smoke and spices from wood. Taut and tense, textures from tannins and acidity frame the core of red and black fruit flavours, dark cherries and plums, some boysenberry and spices from barrel. A backbone of acidity, polished tannins, savoury and complex, wild dried thyme and lots of mouthfeel before the core fruit signatures kick back in. Best drinking from 2029 through 2038.
