Akarua Chardonnay 2025, Bannockburn, Central Otago

A really lovely bouquet, engaging and complex, intriguing and new. Aromas of fresh white fleshed fruits from tree to stone then citrus from some peel to pith. There’s fine savoury quality accentuated with lees and oak along with a clay and stone mineral layer. Dry, nicely weighted with a satin-cream mouthfeel, fleshy and gently saline. Well made with best drinking from early 2027 through 2034.
