The Marlborist 'The Herd' Pinot Noir 2023, Marlborough

A complete wine with a bouquet of dried herb then red berry fruits, some red apple, lees and wood complexities then a steely clay mineral quality. Firm and dry, tautness and tension touch the palate first then textures from tannins and acidity framing core fruit flavours of raspberry and sour cherry, some strawberry then ideas of stony clay, tobacco and dried herb. Youthful and fresh, salivating with some saline effect. Best drinking from 2029 through 2034+.
