An excellent bouquet, one of precision and power, ripeness and pinosity. Complex scents of plums and strawberry, red berries then spices of fruit and wood. As the wine opens out in glass the bouquet expands to include synergies and more complexities that can only come from site, vintage, bottle development and winemaker decisions. Complex, textured and dry with fine chalky tannins and backbone of acidity driving flavours of red berries and wood spice layers. There’s lees adding a seam of complexity and enhancing the ideas and suggestions of dark clays and stones. The wood layers are well defined and woven through the palate flavours. Delicious and lengthy, precise and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2032+.
