A red blend with a nod to the classic Bordeaux style with a powerful voice of Hawkes Bay and Aotearoa delivering scents of ripe blackberry fruits and savoury olive and dark earth, stone and Doris plums. The complexity continues with scents of tobacco and hay, smoked French barrel, some coffee bean and violets. Dry, full-bodied and powerful with layers of toasty dark red fruits from blackberry and blackcurrant to plums then red flowers, earth and clove. Firm bold and ripe tannins, a decent acid line and synergies that deliver complexity and length. Fantastic wine with best drinking from day of purchase through 2038.
