Trinity Hill 'The Gimblett' 2024, Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

How excellent to see Cabernet Franc as the feature variety in a blend from this part of the New Zealand. A fragrant bouquet with scents of crushed violets then blackberry fruits, wood spice and smoke and bracken, dried herb and stone. There’s an exotic side to this wine with the idea of cacao and clove, a gentle peppercorn quality and black cherry. A dry wine touches the palate with an immediate concentration of fruit and flavours that have melted together forming a complex and detailed expression. The voice of the Franc is strong with the olive, dried herb and blackberry flavours. A delicious wine with best drinking from day of purchase through 2035.
