Cape Crest Sauvignon Blanc 2024: This wine also has a touch of Semillon and Sauvignon Gris. 100% barrel-fermented and aged. Immediate power and intensity, more pronounced barrel ferment complexities, a definitive core of pineapple, ripe citrus and fleshy peach ideas. A backbone of acidity, saline and salivating, bright and fresh. A perfect balance of fruit and structure. Delicious and ready. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2030. 94 Points - Excellent
Elston Chardonnay 2024: Great colour with some green hues and plenty of silver polish. 33% new barrel underpins some of the bouquet the scents of ripe yellow peach and apple, citrus quality all framed by a backbone of tension and acidity lead to some poise and length. Nut and extra spice, length and concentration. Delicious, fine and lengthy. 95 Points - Outstanding
Alma Pinot Noir 2024: A very modern expression with a foundation core of ripe, almost intense scents of cherry and raspberry, and some heirloom red apple skin ideas. Youthful and appealing, shape and form, supple qualities. Dry, some tension with acidity and fine tannins have a grab and squeeze on the palate carrying a coarse-silk mouthfeel enhanced by the acid line. Firm, dry, youthful with plenty of tension and some poise. Well made, VG length and lots of style. 93 Points - Excellent
Bullnose Syrah 2024: Lots of purple and ruby hues with a pink rim. Varietal with core power from ripe fruit and concentration. Aromas and flavours of cherries and red currants, violets and spice. Not peppery, really, rather a wine of texture and new oak layers framed by the fruit and definitive stony-earth qualities. Delicious and fresh, great appeal and freshness, length and intensity. A very modern wine with a fine look at soil and site through fruit and length. 94 Points. - Excellent
Awatea Merlot Cabernet 2024: An inviting and nicely intense bouquet with core aromas and flavours of fresh plums and blackberries, boysenberry and some barrel spice, earth-smoke of clay and stone, then a salty leesy quality. An abundance of tannins and acidity ensure this wine will continue to age well. It can also be enjoyed today if decanted. 94 Points - Excellent
(Extra surprise wine) Coleraine 2014: Fabulous complexity and intensity. Red berries and a whisper of coffee, smoky and earthy, complex and lengthy, very fine and still quite new. Flavours of plums and some leather, dark berries and wood smoke, five spice and vanilla, then clove. Lengthy and complex, a delicious wine. 96 Points - Outstanding.
Coleraine 2024: Powerful, new, ripe and urgent bouquet. New, youthful, fresh and vibrant aromas of red velvet cake, red beet and raspberry, sweet blackberry and Doris plums. A whisper of dried herb and hay, barrel and wood flavours are well soaked up by the fruit. An abundance of tannins, fine and volumous adding in layers of mouthfeel and length, complexity and power.. Dry, lengthy, delicious, the wine of the tasting, no question. 97 Points - Outstanding
