Wild Irishman 'Fumé' Barrel Fermented Sauvignon Blanc 2024, Central Otago
The core scent package in the bouquet can only mean Central Otago, the aromas of green melon and angelica are specific with a leesy intensity and fruit spice quality. Fruit aromas of hot lemon, citrus peel and thyme follow, then a mix of soft mild tropical fruit ideas. Dry with a silky touch, a leesy drive and soft smoky tones follow. The acid line is perfect as the wine needs a bright and refreshing, salivating contrast. This si more than achieved. Well made, a old school style with a modern hand. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2029.
