Mahi 'The Wrekin' Chardonnay 2024, Marlborough

A rather exciting wine with a flinty, pure fruited bouquet, scents of grapefruit and crisp red apple, earth-smoke scents of stone and tilled soil then barrel spice and a light seam of wood smoke. Dry, tautly structured mouthfeel with tannins and acidity keeping the palate tight and youthful. This wine will begin to unfold and settle into more development sometime in 2027 and last several years to come. An excellent example with best drinking from late 2026 through 2031+.
