Batch Winery 'Thomas' Pinot Gris 2025, Waiheke Island

An excellent varietal lift with a rounded and expressive bouquet. Aromas of fresh and roasted pears, yellow apple and a definitive leesy spice quality. The bouquet has an ‘old-world’ quality about taking me to Alsace and the use of older barrel and lees. On the palate a fuller-bodied and satin textured touch with lees and older barrel ideas framing the core fruit flavours of pomaceous fruits and poached fruit ideas. Balanced and well made with medium acidity and balanced phenolics. Best drinking from day of purchase through 2028.
