Poppies Syrah 2025, Martinborough

Fantastic wine. The bouquet shows complexity and power as much as it does seductive scents of ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry with a surge of new oak then hard clay earth and red soil suggestions. Violets and fleshy Doris plums, baking spices of clove and allspice. A dry wine touches the palate, complex and highly textured with a frame of tannins in abundance with a backbone of acidity then ripe red berry fruits reflective of the bouquet. Taut and poised, youthful and lengthy. Best drinking from 2029 through 2035+.
