Nga Waka Chardonnay 2023, Martinborough

A nicely complex bouquet with scents of mineral and stone then white fleshed tree and stone fruits, a fine layer citrus leads to scents of barrel and lees complexities. Decent weight and mouthfeel, almost full-bodied with a satin texture then as the wine opens out on the palate the textures of acidity and spice increase, so too do the flavours tree fruits and citrus. Well made, lengthy, new and still taut, a wine for the cellar if need be with best drinking from late 2024 or early 2025 through 2028+.
