Wild Estate Wanderlust Chardonnay 2022, Waiheke Island

A youthful vibrant bouquet filled with scents of white and yellow fleshed orchard fruits, a core grapefruit quality, then spices from lees and French oak. Lovely weight and texture on the palate with aa gentle satin-cream touch, equally youthful acid line, fine tannins from barrel and a chalky, mealy quality carried by and from the acidity. Core fruit flavours reflect the bouquet with a nut and spice complexity leading to a dry finish. Well made, very youthful still with best drinking from late 2024 through 2029.
