Carrick Billet-Doux Pinot Noir 2019, Central Otago

Very enticing bouquet with aromas of fresh, just picked dark red Otago cherry, dried herb, a core of mineral, plum and fresh new spice of French oak. Complex, youthful and vibrant. Equally youthful and vibrant on the palate with red berry flavours that mirror the bouquet. Firm ripe barrel and fruit tannins along with acidity form a great foundation for ageing. Raspberry and plum, dark cherry and wild dried herb, a touch of wood smoke and baking spice layers. Well made, needs some cellar time to settle in further. Best drinking from late 2022 through 2029+. I’m excited to try this wine again in 12 months time.

I tried this wine earlier in 2021 so very nice to see it is developing slowly and maintain its readiness at the end of 2022.
