Stonecroft

Stonecroft Gimblett Gravels Chardonnay 2017 Hawkes Bay

Some classic and very recognisable aromas of Hawkes Bay in the bouquet - with a stony mineral layer underpinning fruits of the orchard - white and yellow peach, then vanilla; custard before apple and wood spices. Dry on the palate with flavours that reflect the nose. The oak is more pronounced suggesting integration time required. Some oak tannins and medium+ acidity suggesting the same. Overall a nice wine. Drinking best from 2020 through 2024.
