Coal Pit Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2024, Central Otago

Hues of dark purple and ruby lead to a bouquet of power and finesse, dark berries and layers of wood and soil smoke, spices and intrigue. Aromas and flavours of boysenberry and black cherry flesh, dried herb and baking spices. Spices of oak and wild red forest flowers, clove and nutmeg. Complex and dry on the palate, textures from tannins and acidity frame the core fruit flavours and dried herb ideas, there’s poise and tension as well as flow and a flourish of fruit. A delicious wine with impact and power, velvet tannins and a lengthy finish. Best drinking from 2028 through 2038.
