Penelope Radburnd Chardonnay 2025, Hawke's Bay

A wine tasted in February, and fantastic to taste again today. The wine remains of high quality with a youthful, pure fruited core, flavours of white and yellow peach, scents of clay, stone, and barrel spice. Dry, youthful, some tautness, a youthful expression, with plenty of acidity and flavour. Stone fruits and citrus, vanilla and some earth and wood smoke qualities. The idea of tropical melon also adds flavours and depth. Balanced and well made with best drinking from mid to late 2026 through 2030+.
