Pask 'Small Batch' Malbec 2021, Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

A lovely wine with core flavours of dark plums and chocolate, quite meaty too with a roasted red meats and wood spice qualities, then violets and blackberry flavours. A dry wine with very good weight and mouthfeel, firm tannins and a backbone of acidity framing flavours of dark berries, stony soils, wood smoke and tension. Well made with medium+ length; best drinking from 2028 through 2034+.
