Varietal and nicely fruity framed by classic scents of tobacco and dried herb-like pyrazine suggestions. Violets and some baking spices, a touch of tar and burnt nut all layer in complexity and quality. A dry wine on the palate with plenty of weight and impact. Tannins and acidity frame the core blackberry and dark plum flavours, tobacco and herb then stony earthy ideas. Well made and ready to drink from day of purchase through 2030. A good choice with meaty rich foods.
