Black Estate Home Bottom Block Chardonnay 2024, North Canterbury

This is a fine wine with a sense of site and place, core aromas and flavours of mineral first then purity of fruit with a mix of clay and limestone, apple and grapefruit, stone fruits, flowers and lees complexities. The use of oak is perfect as it frames the core flavours very nicely. There’s some gentle wood spice and a combination of earth and softly spoken wood spices. Great drinking from day of purchase through 2032+.
