Mission 'Jewelstone' Syrah 2021, Gimblett Gravels, Hawke's Bay

Excellent colour and bouquet filled with richness and ripeness, plenty of berry fruit scents then smoky wood tones. Complex and youthful. On the palate a dry wine with a core of dark berries and plums, vanilla and clove, smoky wood and stony soils with a dark clay quality. Firm tannins and a backbone of acidity. Complex and lengthy, a wine still ageing with best drinking from 2028 through 2034+.
