Neely Estate 'Hidden Block' Pinot Noir 2022, Santa Cruz Mountains, California, USA

Classic hues of red and burgundy with a ruby core. Aromas and flavours of red cherry and plum laced with a mix of clay-earth and wood spices, violet and rose. A dry wine with lighter-weighted mouthfeel, flavours are persistent, fresh and lively. Some earth and wood smoke are also persistent. Fine to moderate tannins from both fruit and judicious use of wood add layers of complexity and power. A wine to watch with best drinking form late 2026/early 2027 through 2032+.
