Leefield Station Chardonnay 2024, Marlborough

A lovely wine with a cool climate, ripe citrus outline and flavours to match. Grapefruit then apple, citrus pith and lemon the a mineral quality suggest stone and some clay. Dry and taut on the palate with plenty of acidity accentuating the citrus, then a seam of leach flavour emerges as the wine opens out in glass. Some lees and wood spices also emerge. Balanced and well made with best best drinking from early 2026 through 2030.
