Monte Christo Winery Pinot Noir 2024, Alexandra, Central Otago

Fabulous expression of Pinot Noir fruit with core aromas and flavours of boysenberry and dried hay, dark plums and stones, wild dried herb and black cherry skin. The use of oak is defined and well placed adding spice and a touch of smoke. Earthy and dry with firm tannins and a backbone of acidity framing the core fruit flavours very nicely. Nothing overdone, well made with a lengthy finish. Best drinking from 2027 through 2032+
