Taylors St Andrews Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Clare Valley

A very attractive bouquet of complexity, variety and time. Aromas of fresh blackberries and dark skinned plums, layers of barrels spices and a gentle minty and eucalypt quality. (Truth is, I was expecting some eucalypt so I may be amplifying its presence more than is there). Purple flowers and black currant suggestions round out the bouquet. Delicious on the palate, true to the power and elegance a Cabernet should show without overstating any single attribute. The wine is taut and youthful with firm tannins and plenty of acidity. A great foundation for the fruit and ageing. Some roasted nut and toasty barrel spice qualities, fresh red fruits core and excellent structure. A lengthy and complex finish suggesting best drinking from 2029 through 2039+.
