de la terre Reserve Chardonnay 2017, Hawke's Bay

Youthful, vibrant, fresh and enticing complexity. Aromas of ripe nectarine and grapefruit then sweet new barrel scents of raw sugar and sweet tobacco. Full-bodied, fruity, variteal and complex on the palate with a brazil nut and peach flavours, baking spices of barrel and lees textures. There’s a clay mineral quality and flavours of citrus, baked apple and wood spices. Some fine tannins and medium+ acid line. Quite delicious and drinking young still so plenty of development time ahead. Best drinking from 2023 through 2029+.
