Yealands Estate SV Tempranillo 2018, Awatere Valley, Marlborough

Yealands Tempranillo.png

An enticing brown spice and fruit centric bouquet with aromas of cinnamon and dusty clove, incense, spiced cherries, plum and black-boy peach. There’s a lightweight aged-meat quality and smoky oak layer. Dry, fruit, tense, youthful, even and engaging on the palate. Fruit flavours and spice reflect the nose while fine dusty tannins and acidity add structure and contrasting mouthfeel. Well made, tasty and a decent alternative to Pinot Noir. An easy food pairing wine and drinkable from purchase and through 2024+
