Ruru Chardonnay 2020, Central Otago

The vineyard for this wine is Alexandra, Central Otago. Aromas of white blossoms and peach, apple, quince and vanilla scents of oak. A light yet distinctive layer of toasty wood adds complexity. Smooth, silky, varietal and familiar with flavours that reflect the bouquet and use of French oak. There’s a seam of minerality that adds depth and complexity, the floral side is quieter on the palate but shows nicely on the finish. Balanced and well made with a calm, lengthy and persistent finish. Best drinking from purchase and through 2024+.
