Black Barn Vineyards Single Vineyard Merlot 2019, Hawkes Bay

Forest berries and new wood scents, dark plums and toasty wood spices of clove and vanilla, aromas of sun-warmed river stones then a touch of chocolate and violet. Fruit centric on the palate with a foundation of new wood, toasty barrel spices, moderate tannins and medium+ acid line. On the youthful side, but balanced and well made. Best drinking from 2022 through 2028+.
