Stonecroft Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay

stonecroft.png

An exacting bouquet of Cabernet with aromas of violets and blackberry, cigar box and baked bell-pepper, dark plums and clove. On the palate - full-bodied, firm and dry with contrasting core of fruit, medium+ acidity and flavours of box-wood, bell-pepper and blackberry. Quite complex with a lengthy finish. Tannins are firm, in abundance and youthful. Well made yet needing cellar time with a very nice varietal focus and youthful appeal. Decant for service with best drinking from 2022 through 2028+.
