Brick Bay Martello Rock Red Blend 2016 Matakana

Aromas of ripe dark berries, dark spices of wood and a complex core of clay and stone-minerality, dark cacao, clove and baked vanilla. Dry, weighty and bold on the palate with flavours of black cherry and blackberry, baked plum, some dark chocolate and baking spices of clove and vanilla in the lead. Firm, youthful tannins and medium+ acidity, a core of flavour with berries and toasty oak, chalky textured tannins and lengthy finish. Well made and ready to enjoy with food, best in the cellar though through 2021 then try again. Best drinking window late 2021 through 2028.
