Stonecroft Wines Reserve Syrah 2016 Gimblett Gravels, Hawkes Bay
Smoky, peppery, dark red berries, raspberry and black currant, brown spices, toasty wood and smoked meats. There’s a layer of gravelly dry stone earthy qualities and baked field mushroom. Dry, weighty, fruity and complex. Also quite youthful with a firm structure of tannin and acidity, newish oak then a core of fruit reflecting the aromas package. Decant for service with best drinking from late 2020 through 2026.
