Clayvin Single Vineyard Syrah 2016 Marlborough

Young wine aromas yet intense, varietal, quite peppery and fruity as well as complex. As the wine opens up in glass the power and intrigue build. Aromas and flavours of purple flowers, dark raspberry, black cherry, some black currant and a whisper of fruit-cake. Dry, bold and powerful with abundant fine tannins and back bone of acidity, a power-house core of fruit and oak to match. Long finish. Don’t even think of opening this wine yet. Best from 2020 to 2030.
